So Long to All our Friends from Seems a Little Sketchy! It's been a great Ride~

For me..32 Sketches, many papers/designs/copic colored images and countless embellishments later...we are seeing the end of  a great site full of Sketch Ideas for several crafters.  The owner and DT members of Seems a Little Sketchy have decided to close the SALS site down, going the way of many online creative sites.  Who can really say if it's because of today's hectic schedules or just a change in the creative juices of followers.  But, it takes endless hours and devotion for Mari, the owner, to put together the sketches and sponsorships for all of us and you the public to use and at some point, you just have to choose your battles.  To you, all of our devoted followers or even the ones that just use the sketches for their personal use, we thank you for following us and leaving sweet comments behind.  We have loved seeing each and every one of your designs and creations and hope to see you somewhere else on the net!
This week, our final 2 week challenge is sponsored by Stamping Dragon Designs and I'm using the Winter Beauty image.  I've turned the sketch, of course lol, and just love these bumpy, sparkly crystal clear buttons for the accents.   Inside I split the design paper to cover the seam in the ribbon and have used the sentiment from a Doodle Pantry set.
It has been fun and rewarding to belong to this great team and I will miss the friendships I've formed.  We hope that it has been a good ride for you as well.  Please support Mari's other design site called Creative Card Crew.  I'm sure she would love to see you all again at that location!

Sharing Christmas Card Marathon crafting session!

Every evening when I come home from work, I'm usually found making cards.  Normally, it's to showcase a creation for one of the Design Teams that I'm on.  But occasionally, the Love of the Christmas season lifts me up from a tired day and fills me with the Spirit of the Season.

I'm just here tonight to share the love of the creations I'm inspired to make.  Just thought I'd just display them to bring a smile to your face and maybe give you some ideas and put your fingers to work to make your own creations.
Thank you for taking the time to look them over.  I will say that all of the sentiments, if not stamped, are digital sayings from Doodle Pantry.  That being said, here are many of those cards:

Snowman and Embossing-such a perfect duo at Squigglefly!

I always love to have the chance to use a Snowman on any of my cards!  How can you not love their loveable faces!!  This week at Squigglefly, we are asked to use any embossing or die cuts on our cards!  I used a great embossing folder from Darcie that has lots of Christmas words and snowflakes on it that I did on pristine white cardstock.  I used iridescent stickles on those-how pretty!  Then I used an image called Snowy Card by Marla Shega, a great artist at Squigglefly.  I love her details!  The image is mounted with foam dots with a red sheer ribbon wrapped behind with a bow. The most gorgeous feature on this card, to accent the delicious red on his hat band, is the red velveteen paper from The Paper Studio-it gives the card so much depth!
For the inside of the card, I used a vintage holly paper with a wonderful stamped verse so appropriate for the Christmas season.  Squigglefly has SO many images to use for any reason, any season-You must go check them out in the shop!

Lots of Baking going on for Doodle Pantry this week!

One of the great December releases from Doodle Pantry is this set called Charliene Baking.  Seems like I'm doing a LOT of this for office carry-ins and next weekend it will be an all day bake-a-thon with my daughter-then we split the goodies for our various locations!  It's fun but a lot of work!
So, when Laurie from Doodle Pantry posted Charliene cooking a Turkey, carrying butter, cookies, pie, even an empty platter, I warmed up to her in an instant (and not from the oven either! lol)
I used the brown patterned paper from the set to represent the flooring in the kitchen, and then used the Super turquoise patterned paper for the walls...maybe even the solid paper is the doorway.  Can you tell I like making "scenes" on my cards!?  The great sentiment is from the set also and there are many more to choose from. I popped the oven mitt with a foam dot and threaded the ribbon through a slit in the fold, brought it around the inside and tied it in the front in a bow.  I just love the colors on this group!  I just know one of my cooking friends will adore this cheerful card as they are slaving over a Christmas full of baking.  Be sure to check our the rest of all the wonderful releases AND be looking for some new exciting news for 2015!

Cinnamon & Berries are Festive on the December release from Doodle Pantry!

Get ready for the most stunning December Release from Doodle Pantry!  We have great, intense colored images for those cards we all need quickly as well as black & white images for those color enthusiasts.  As usual, Laurie has come up with  a super mixture of spiritual, funny, and traditional sets and I know you will love to use them all!
The set I'm using is called Cinnamon & Berries.  I Love the coloring she's used-all that you see: the mat, paper, paper "ribbon", the sentiment and of course the image are all in the set!  Any set you get from this great site are plentiful in their choices!  I wanted a frosty look so I applied some white flower soft on the berries-love how it turned out!
On the inside, I used some holly paper from my stash and then layered the set's papers and sentiment.
With the start of the new Year, we will begin with some wonderful and exciting things at Doodle Pantry--can't mention much more than that but be sure to check back with us each week!  Hope you will take the time to check on all the great cards that the DT has created for you-we are always hoping to inspire you!

Crafty Sentiments Designs sponsors Seems a Little Sketchy for the next 2 weeks

I'm so pleased with this adorable Christmas card for Seems a Little Sketchy using Harriet Cold Christmas!  She comes from Crafty Sentiments Designs and they are offering 3 digital images free from their store to the winner of our 2 week challenge. The beauty of this sketch is that you can use a variety of papers from your scraps!  I also used some evergreen paper for the background paper.  After coloring Harriet with copics, I applied Flower Soft for the accents on her clothing and ear muffs.  The scalloped card blanks that I used I got in a close out deal with a company over in England and are 6x6 so lots of room for piling it on lol! Inside is a great sentiment from a collection I have from Doodle Pantry for Christmas, along with a cardstock sticker of a Christmas tree.
Come play along with us for the next two weeks and show us some ideas for Christmas cards!

Lacy Sunshine is Celebrating with us at Southern Girls! Merry Christmas!

I am loving getting ready for Christmas around the 'ole crafty home!  This time of year, both teams of Southern Girls are getting together and are showing Celebrations in our lives.  My favorite time of the year is Magical Christmas.  While I hate the snow that comes to this area, I love all the symbols of Love and acts of kindness that people show to one another.  Many members of our teams live in New Zealand, Australia, England so their season is starting to have lots of green grass, warm sunny days..
We've had our first snows and I'm looking forward to all the baking, lighting the tree, listening to Christmas songs.  I'm using the super pretty image from Lacy Sunshine called Peppa Mint Sticky Wings and I adore her.  Her designs are always intricate but so cute!  The sentiments that I'm using are from Doodle Pantry, where I'm also a DT member.  I love this filigree sheer red ribbon and I also added some Ice Stickles in iridescent to the tips of Peppa's wings-hopefully will look like bells.
Over the last few years we have had lots of awesome DT lovelies and loads of fabby sponsors too.  This challenge we would love for all our lovely followers to join us for our special celebration challenge.  Just make a project that is about celebrating and link up in the link tool.
Please join us in our celebrations for the next 3 weeks!  We can't wait to see what you've created!

Cherly Algers' Snowman showing up at Squigglefly

This week at Squigglefly, we were asked to use "Dear or Deer" in our creations and I chose to use one of my favorite artist's Snowman creations.

Cheryl Alger has many talents, but one of them is her heartwarming Snowmen.  You can't help but smile when you see them and so it is with me..This one is called Bashful Betty the Snowman and I'm so happy with the results!  I have the perfect friend to send this to for Christmas so it was easy to use the term "Dear" on my card.

This card was done on a packet of 6 x 6 scalloped card blanks that I ordered long ago from England of all places.  Lovingly using one of my fav color combo's. blue & green, I had the perfect matching paper!  I fancy cut Betty, used foam dots to elevate her and the sentiment (computer generated) and used a Jolly sentiment on the inside with a snowflake sticker.  I'm having such fun working on Christmas cards this early!  For a little sparkle, I put orange stickles on the noses.  Please come and join us this week and, if you use a SF image, you could win another one from the extensive shop there!  We'd love to see what you come up with!

Delicious Doodles Sponsors Seems a Little Sketchy-Show me...Christmas Cards!!

I know , I know we need to fully enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday before Christmas is upon us...you see, it snowed today...and that led to me playing Christmas music..which led to Christmas Cards, and before I knew it-I was in deep.
This sketch this week at Seems a Little Sketchy just lends itself to a beautiful card!  I'm using an image from our great sponsor, Delicious Doodles, called Christmas Lantern.  I've tilted the sketch a bit but love the way it came together!  This crackle paper from The Paper Studio is a great Holiday paper-I've used it both on the outside and inside.  The candle has gold stickles on it and I used red stickles on the berries.  With the red faceted bling, it really pops.  Join us at SALS for the 2 week challenge-Delicious Doodles will be awarding the winner a choice of 4 free images!

Fallen leaves, Nature's Bounty at Doodle Pantry and The Paper Cut-a time for Sharing

I can't resist using the Fall images from Doodle Pantry for some Thanksgiving Day cards for friends and family.  The colors are so vivid and the composition that Laurie at DP puts together is so perfect!  This rural scene with a wonderful tree in all it's glory is from the set Harvest Bounty.  I chose to mat it with a matching orange cardstock, wrapped with some grosgrain ribbon and then mounted onto a gorgeous shimmery blue cardstock called Triton from The Paper Cut.  You need to check out that site for not only pre-scored blank card templates for those folding, moveable cards you see everywhere (such variety!) BUT they also carry amazing cardstocks in metallics, mirror stock, textured, flecked, and pearlized just to name a few!  Love 'em!  The inside of the card is a tone on tone print with gold leaves on a fall gold paper from The Paper Studio.  Stamp is from my stash and perfect for the Holiday connection with the family.  As the Holidays get closer, I hope you find time to unite with your family members and talk about the memories...
